Welcome! I am a postgraduate associate at the Yale MacMillan Center (South Asian Studies Council) and PhD candidate in Political Science at Columbia University. I will join the faculty at Yale as Assistant Professor of Political Science in July 2019.

My research interests lie at the intersection of gender and comparative politics, with a regional specialization in South Asia. In my work,  I explore gender gaps in political preferences, and the barriers to women’s political participation and representation in Pakistan. In another strand of research, I explore questions related to the prevention of violence against women in India. My research has been generously supported by the American Institute of Pakistan Studies, the Abdul Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL) Governance Initiative, the National Science Foundation, and the Action for Empowerment and Accountability (A4EA) Research Program.
